The FIA WEC returned to Brazil after more than a decade for the 6 Hours of São Paulo. In the top class of hypercars, Neel Jani (SUI) and Julien Andlauer (FRA) finished 15th in a difficult race in the Porsche 963 with starting number 99. In the FIA World Cup, the classification for hypercar customer teams, they nevertheless managed to make it onto the podium in third place.

Julien Andlauer (Porsche 963 #99): “It was a very difficult weekend for us. We didn’t manage a fast lap in qualifying and had to start from far back. In my first stint, I found a good rhythm and moved up from P14 to P6. But then I had contact and received a drive-through penalty. That set us back again. After that, we had minor problems for the rest of the race. But we learned a lot, even if that wasn’t the result we had imagined, of course.”

Neel Jani (Porsche 963 #99): “A difficult day for us that started quite well. We finished in the top 10 and were able to keep up with the pace of the leaders. But then we had to pit. Later we had problems with the tire pressure and finally a drive-through penalty. We will analyze all of this and then focus on Austin. Today we were beaten far below our potential.”
